Intro:
This course will focus on spine pain, problems, and deformity, including the assessment and the specific treatment
plans from physical therapy point of view based on the updated evidence. Steps of non-surgical treatment, including
spine deformity and problems specific exercises, bracing, and education will be covered. The course will also
highlight the correction positions and the outcome measurements used to monitor progress, with using ADL
correction, gait training and rehabilitation, ending up with Return to sport program.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Understand background for the use of the SPS Methods in the treatment of spine.
- Identify the latest evidence on non-surgical treatment of spine problems and diseases such as disc hernia, disc bulge, disc spondylosis etc.
- Identify the latest evidence on non-surgical treatment of spine deformity such as ‘scoliosis, hyper lordosis, hyper kyphosis, flat lumber etc.
- Perform an individualized spine evaluation.
- Describe the passive and active corrections in five different starting positions (supine, prone, side-lying, sitting and standing).
- Develop, and initiate a specific treatment program based on the patient’s problem, pattern and other findings.
- Able to assess, treat, set up plan of return to ADL and sport activity.
